Route 63 section continued. Loc. 195 Large barren conc. layer at top bluff above gulley followed N. along bluff to Loc. A-1. Following section is measured up from the big barren layer. (1) A 2.0-4.0 Conc. layer, large brown with barren ls. concs which loc. form tabular masses. (2) B 10.0 Covered, Sand wash. Few spots show vfq shaly ss with some ferrug. stratg. ss is "sob gozy wrecht". C (3) 0.6 Conc layer. Blue-gray barren ellipsoid concs - scattered. Thin silty wind weathers gray. About 1' above scatt fossil. concs. P.ing, Ochagenusis, Spher Covered, prob as in 10.0 interval. (4) D 9.5 (5) E 1.0-3.0 Conc. zone, mixed platy yellow weath concs and hard dk gray dense ls concs. Ptario linguliformis fauna. (Szypdc) Above this nothing definitely in place. Route 63 Section - Loc A-2 26 feet of covered slope between big barren conc zone & platy cucullea conc zone. This cuc zone may be same as yellow-weath. zone 5

The section at Loc. A-1 is skeletal. Numerous foss. cones in float but few in place. The fossil? cones just above barren cones in C may be source of some of it and cones at E are too, but may also be more floating from higher horizons

Lzlted weather gray, remainder brownish gray. sczt fos. incl large Idoucerca. A-346 (2) 0.3 Thin platy limestone conc. zone burren (3) 3.0 Sedstone, vfg as below but minor shale layers. (4) 1.0-2.0 Large OB weath ls, cones, sczt. large Idoucerca A1375 (5) 13.5 Sedstone, weather yall brn exfoliates, sczt. large Idoucerca in sznd. 10c 26 2 mi. S. Bullhead Note for shaly red clay Slopewash + grass (1) 12.0-? Siltsst, shaley clzkh gray, with forever stem loc. Weathers brownish gray, scattered jarosite nodules. Scattered throuout are small gray ls, concs of ivory shape, few larger with gray silty rinds(-chiefly 4.0 from top). Small gervilliz, crunelle, D. nic. Fossils few. large geovillies (2) 1. "Brown" conc zone, large clipseichl to tzbolzr dk gray weath, zlgzl white concs of blue gray ls. No rinds som. weath brn. Few sczt crunelles (3) 3.5 Siltsstn shely, as above, with loc. huge Gervillia-crunelle concs 1.5-2.5 from bzse and sczt gervillizl concs & accumulations about at 3.5 (zone B collections) (4) 5.0 Siltsstn shely, as above. (5) 6.7 Siltsstn shely, as above, but with concenti jarosite, and scattered fossilif concs, ls, wrapped in gray silty rinds. These in lower 3.0 Others consist of core-less gray rinds- some with poorly preserved foss. (6) 9.0 Siltsstn dk gray shely with qyp, forms dk bend on outcrop, loc rounded crop qzcdcs to overlying unit. (7) 13.0 Siltsstn, shley, brownish gray with brn. gray streaks., weaths browngrey 8

Loc. Fe-stained bznw OB 6' from top (8) 02-1.5 Conc. ls, wezths red brn, yellow calcite in crecks, few scattered (9) 6.0 Siltstn grading to finagr SS, cln grey slightly clayey, (10) 0.3 Loc zone small ellips, red bznw ls, concs.

McLaughlin road Loc #1 Locality 18 Measuring up from top yellow sulphur zone concentration which is about 1.5 thick above "Elk Butte sh" (1) 8.0+ Siltsuishly, gray, with jarosite blocks, weather yellowish gray. About 1.0 - 3.0 from base zone crumbly gray concretes, is cores, gray silty jectrets and gypsum (dk gray) rinds. Nicolloti conc at 6.0-7.0. 18a (2) 5.0 Siltsln, gray, weather brownish gray with irreg streaks of dark gray shale. In lower 2.0+ zone small O.B. ferrous concs up to 0.3 inches, At 5.0 is foss conc. in piece. 18b (see coll., weather red brown, no appreciable rinds. (3) 2.0 (approx) wash of silty sh + grass cover to layer barren ls. concretes. 10

McLaughlin road loc #2 Locality 17 Two zones of concs. in road cut Approx. measurement (1) 1.5+ concent. of jerosite in silty silt shly gray silt. Includes both round + big tubular concs with dark qyp outer rind, Silty platy inner end with loc. 1s. concs (2) 3.5 As colour but with less of jerosite. Scattered ellipsoidal concs with same as in 1:5 below. Both Concs include - Larga qervillia, D. nicollet + D. -yet sp. (Coll 17a) (See McLaughlin rd 2coll, A) (3) 10.0 Brownish with gray shaly silt with large concs. made up chiefly of "Crenella" + small qervillia. (Coll 176) (See McLaughlin rd 2, coll, B.) (4) 3.0 siltsf as above with to grass roots.

9.5 above upper Jevosite zone is conc with Sepioid. 10.0+ below the lower Jezosite zone, is first appearance avoid, black is concs which weather red-purple. brown- chiefly brown, sand golden celate, blocky fracture Ma stained surfaces.

[loc 34] Green Grass Butte Base at grass foot of gully face. To W. below few feet brownish silty shale 1) 7,6 Siltstny, clayey, dark gray, weathered light gray yellowish clay. Top is 0.25 zone of yellow pyrosite nodules. 2) 7.7 Big silty cone with small CaCO3 core + golden carbonate weathers reddish - sits on lower yellow grind at base. As below with scuff gray, small ls coars., brown-gray jacket, 0.6-1.0 from base, and yellow pyrosite middle concentration at top. 3) 12.3 Silty zs below - dk gray clayey, some ffg sand. Intermittent red brown between ls coars with gray cccs in upper chiefly in upper 3', and Is cone with sculpid 9.5 from base - weathers red. A1408 4) 5,2. Siltsty, sandy, clayey, weather yellowish to brownish gray, some scuff pyrosite some small red weather ls. coars. scuffs (0.2-0.1c), between. 5) 3,0 Concretionary zone - scattered concretions in a silty zone - some partial induration of silt. Very large punky cones, lime cement weak cores, with tough gray jackets. Loc fossilic. Also hard dk blue gray limestone coars. [Coll. A. from large punky type] A 338 Large spheroid in shale 1.0 above this zone. 12

⑥ 29.6 Sandstone, sandy, grading to silty ss loc. with pods + lenses dark gray, sh + silty sh. Clayey throat at 25' from bese small brown red weth is concs. ⑦ 5.6 Sandstone, tan, v fq, silty mottled with gray clayey blobs. A few 'scht', 'foss' un foss. concs. A-339 Coll. B-1 at bese in punky wrapped red weth is conc., Coll. B-2, in hard blue gray is conc gray patina. ⑧ 2.0 - 3.0 Concretionary zone - Large rb weth is concs, some yellow weth calcite in loc joints gray silts, vint. Chiefly Pierre and little Cvc. (Coll. E - except poss D, near the Ezylo Butte sp.) Some smaller fos concs A 340 ⑨ 13.3 Sandstone, gray with brownish cast, v fq, weths light yellow brn. Contains numerous scht, foss. concs, and 'big cucs' in ss. Loc at top 2nd between concs in succeeding zone. (Plinquiriformis) (410' above bese 306' selected for conc sample covers PLINQUIRIFORMIS Coll G + 4) ⑩ 2.0 - 3.0 donations cvc ss sandstone Concretionary zone, large widely? spaced - thick gray sandy, zche is chiefly punky - few brown cohes. Some foss - incl. 1 mordenensis Am poor (Coll. D) A 341 ⑪ 10.0 Sandstone, tanish gray, little clay, v fq, weths yellowish gray. Contains scht foss. concs. chiefly punky, small, with rinds but within 3.0 of bese Some big ones like those of preceding zone. All punky. Big cucullics, Plinquiriformis nebrascensis, indet. sm. ⑫ 2.0 ± june 2 pm. conc zone, in base of glauconity ssnd unit. A 342 Coll E - gray punky ss/ concs SS rinds OB weth loc. (cvcc) 13

Sczltared conc.-few. fossiferous, P. longiformis, punky Orange brn-stained zone 3.3 to 4.6 (14) 13.3 Sandstone, very qlzuconitic dzvl gray to dk greenish gray, weather's darker gray than unit below with some greenish to brownish stain and much orange Fe stained chip float from envelopes conc layers and also Fe stained orange zones + splotches in SS. LS cemented conc SS layers. From base- 2.8-3.8 Scott GS, concs, ellipsoidal, platy, punky. Coll. 7.5-8.1 - Flat lddy concs made of same stuff?S 10.0-10.8 - Same as proceeding Remaining footage has some Fe orange bands. Upper 3.0 begins to grade to unit above. Coll. F A 343 (15) 22.0 Sandstone, lightgray, fine-grained, some little clay.. Much of it worn- worked. Unit weathers to light brownish gray bluff caps butte. Once was hard cap SS with 14

Anguliformes (rare) [illegible] palm frond] Halymerites capping but this gone. May have been within 3-5 feet present top. mostly thin bedded, [illegible], [illegible], grossly x bedded with dk sh plugs numerous. Coll G - A 344 - Flost from both the butte and small prominences near the road Note that above C zone cores are punky, [illegible] good is cores - few good fossils.

Loc. 21 Second road cut N. Little Eagle G. Road gutter (1) 4.5 Shale, dark gray, very finely silty. (2) 1.0± Shale, gray, highly silty, weathers brownish. (3) 8.0 Shale, gray, silty, with scattered jarosite blooms. Weathers streaked like gray & brownish gray, upper 1.0-2.0 has hazy concentration jarosite. Much selenite float. Few brownencs in upper foot-gray silt jackets. (4) 5.3 Shale, silty, grading to Shly silt, gray with jarosite stain & blobs. Weathers like brushgray. Conc. scatt in int. some large brown gray jackets gyp rinds, few in upper 2.3 tossilaceous. - Coll. Aug 26 A. - D. Nic. etc. selenitic (5) 4.5 Siltgy as below, scat concs in upper 3' The nicollite concs among them, about 2.5 from top. At top .2 of vfg send, gyp sit. some fos concs very top of interval, with, big + lighte qervilla, D.Nic. (6) 9.0 Siltsty, as in above, less jarosite, in upper 2.0+ scat. qurvilla concs. - Chieflly row at top and one 2' from top. Lower row somewhat like frana. Coll. Aug, 26 B, "proteozoa type."

(Call. Aug 26 B is from single conc. 2' beneath Gervilliz conc's. Note that at Whitehorse road distance between the two types is greater whereas at Z m. S. Bullheez locality -- (and at Linton?) the two are combined into large 2-part concretions with the Gervillizs on top. 17

Remasure 13AA
