Stamens (on short free part & on ridges below) hairy. Style
glabrous (but any hairy). Flo looks fairly the same
old as Podophyllum peltatum flm. St. of this spc. def
flattened to oval below but not angular.

BVH 551, & 164. F.L. Klein (See ? 4-18-30, desc very like
this.) St above upper lemmas or quite glabrous.
Branches half whorled with enlarged glabrous
pads in axil (as 4-18-30), to 2 1/4 in. naturally [ciliate]
but sometimes branched bearing 2 spikelets. Spike
lets nowine. awns about 2 1/2 in. Styles inserted
about the middle of pubescent ovary. Lemma has
nerves each side & mid-nerv less distinct than
mid-nerv & the 2 nerves near edges each side
(as 4-18-30) Lemma bidentate with teeth subulate.
Pales def but distantly ciliate [6-4-34 F.R. Vauclusemin
Y-M -> Montreux under R.R. Spikelet, upper part & wt purple.]

BVH 550, & 164. F.L. Klein. Idem very uncertain but surely
B. and no other seems likely. Past perennial with many
young shoots coming up beside fl-calm, all whitish
mouldy looking (below ground) or more or less entangled
in remains of old low hrs on these shoots folded 2mm
wide when opened out), hairy on back & edges so
