in ? parts. involucr ? 3 serile 3-partite & much divided. the outer portions decurrent so that base is broad (5-8mm) & mingled. Stv involucres silky with long, white, spreading bracts. Sepals 6, white silky on backs. (See 5-27-31 5-18-31? Doronicum Pardalianches L. BvH 254: D.— Wild Box/162=D. cordatum Lamb. Cote# 397 Fl Cult Tovaux garden. (See 5-7-31 which prob was same spe. Its basal lv col but that base ? at. has petiole abruptly expanded and at base exactly as small BvH. St to 2½ ft bearing 2 res- sile. Cordate clasping lvs on st (above the petioled lf) and a similar smaller lfv each of two branches. St now bears a solitary fl head on each of 2 branches (and tips ? main at which prob bore a fl-head broken off). Would be diff ident. if y without ill BvH. Evidently not in B.M.F.P. 5-18-31 Polygonatum multiflorum Ell. (See 5-12-31) Fl Elms (Vel-Mont woods path to Temple). Fls from base up- wards in groups of 2-3-3-2-2-1. Perianth l/5mm long, tube 3mm wide, limb 10-12mm wide. 3 of perianth lobes nar- rower than the others, all def green inside with whitish margins, pubescent at tips, spreading. Stamens
