9-20-31 Stachys annua L. Cote II/7, Box 353, #701 = S. annus L. S.D.HI 565./Type. Gryon-Brevius, of S with S. recta L. Root not cut. Erect & freely branched articulated purple, with very slight downwards curved hairs (hairs on S. r- articulated, longer v spreading making it rough to touch). Floral only 1 prof: these entire will never looking almost parallel ([Floral] S. s - toothed, not veined v almost rugose). Calyx teeth narrower than S. s- curved v the subulate tip not def. glabrous as in S. s-. Corolla (at mt 12 mm) smaller than S. s- about, the ring hairs almost lacking under side but represented by partial ring which prop. is horizontal (not def. flqueasin S. s- . Seeds black, slightly roughened. Corolla somewhat frilly on edge & upper lips [See 8-20-34 Ellion] 9-21-31 Geranium columbinum L. Cote I 245, Box 57 Box 96, #536, SVHI #26 Fl v fe flori (only 1 prof ace found on wall Mont. Fleur towards lower bridge over brook). Petals 7 mm long, slightly notched & apiculate at apex - purple with 3 darker veins, gradually lighte r towards base, glabrous except fr def. ciliation as claw. Fl almost or quite glabrous, smooth, beaks slight appea- sed pubescent. Seeds reticulate. Plant slender, decum- bent, with appressed downwards pointing hairs (no glands).
