hardly emarginate at top, standing very stiff when fl first open (the wings formi, a horizontal roof over the face) and later? (when wings have been fallen) standard hangs flat over ovary & stamens. Stamens 4?1?, the antlers def. apiculate. Style slender. bent at right angles with small capitate stigma. Ovary pubescent, ovules several. Standard silvery-rose on outside not very fine pubescence.. Best possibility for BM 2570 is Indigofera Gerardiana Benth. p.417. (See 9-2-31 article makes identification sure) 6-24-31 Malva silvestris. Fl. slim edge & woods at Planard. St to 10in from what seems perennial stock, with longish spread. single axis, mostly several from same base (cf. toward top) but because of length not making starry effect. Lvs. orbicular, 5-7 nerved at base, the corresponding lobe broad valvular (most like all M. roundifolia Benth or M. patrinia Coats in this respect). Series broad valvolar, the sides straight. Lvs. hairy both sides with hairs single or several from same base. Largest fl 2 1/2 x 3 in. It's several in axils. The stam. bracts lanceolate or elliptic a little shorter than calyx, 2 so near together that they seem joined at base
