He also thought that the Golden Crows were Gambels, at first, probably because he was looking for them. He thinks that he saw a Rufous Crow, at least it had a bright brown or red crown patch and he says it was not Chipping now, Interned. He also shot a Bell's Spar. We passed down the E. side of the mountain and when above Box Spr. we saw 4 Green-wing'd Teal in a small pond, but could not get them. Arrived home after dark. Dec 25. Christmas, Spring Brook.
