279 Moberly, 1/2 mi. S. of Moberly a stream Crosses the RR track, a short distance east of the RR. In the bed of the stream is seen the base of the Black shale, thence, E. down stream= 2 ft. limestone 7 ft unknown. 5 ft. limestone with abundant chest concretions and rare specimens of crinoid stems large, and Spi- rifer Coriostrea. Half a mile eastward, at creek, 12 ft solid limestone forming an os. carpment, possibly the upper 5 feet of this bed form the cherty layers described above from near Moberly. Level is 800 feet. 5 1/2 feet clayey limestone, thin layers weathered back, but little exposed, 25 feet not well exposed. Presumed to be blue Osprod clay. This clay is exposed just beneath the clayey limestones. Only a few feet are seen. 17 feet of limestone with inter- calated clays. 3 specimens Limestone layers in the Bruce Crinoid leads, Whitfieldella, Oithon, plebel lites, Lepidocrea rhomboidal, Strep- telasma calcicola, occurs at 13 ft 6 in. above the Madison. The Clinton is reddish brown, solid limestone.
