58- East of Chas. Blant's house, 2 1/8 miles East of Berlin a little North of the road among some Cedar trees East of the gully East of Blan- ton's house, the Cornif- erous rests on the Louis- vile limestone. The Cor- niferous is 8 feet thick, and the Black Shale rests im- mediately above. This is the finest Corniferous section. - Berlin-1000. R.R. level. Above line of Black Shale. Boston to Bardstown via Beech Fork. 115 - Berlin, about 1000. 59. Half a mile East of Ber- a road turns Southward towards Nelsonville just beyond Sick's Creek, the top of the Black Shale is at 1000. There are about 5 feet of Cor- niferous rock. The Louis- vile limestone lies im- mediately beneath. 66 Two miles farther, the Nel- sonville road crosses Beech Fork, just before reaching Beech Fork, a road turns off Eastward, and after passing through two gates, reaches an exposure a mile East of the Nelson- ville-Berlin road. The exposure lies West of Mrs. Edie Rogers house, west a creek valley separating the two. The oolitic layer at the top of the Sandstone stone is found at 753. It is 2 feet thick. The red sandstone is 13 feet thick.
