May 30. Cloudy, colder. Intercut warbler sings constantly.
May 31- Rain - cold.
Apr. 1- Poured all day - 1.75 in about.
Apr. 2. Rain - warmer. W. Winter Wren in garden.
Apr. 3. Clear, crisp. Drove to San Francisco - its museum at Affiliated Colleges, lunch in tea garden - Willall Sparrows very tame. Chickadees, Allen Hummers abundant. Ruby-cv. Kinglet singing.
Apr. 4. Clear. Oaks in full bloom and with new leaves
Apr. 5. Bird Class drove to Baumberg. Found oriole near Mt. Eden.
Water very high - country beyond old barns all under water.
Birds fewer than usual- perhaps because more scattered.
Walip. and Glaucus Winged Gulls - not many-
Shorelles- thousands in the distant ponds.
Ruddy-Ducks- a few in near ponds
Cinnamon Teal- one pair seen--
Gt. Blue Heron - about 6 seen.
Cost - 10s about
Arroets - 6 in fine plumage,
Redbrested-Sandpipers - three seen-
Sanderling - 1 with 4 W-Sandpipers -
W. Sandpipers-several small flocks- 4-6 in each.
Yellow Legs- 5 seen.
Killdeer-many- I nest contained 4 eggs - in middle of muddy yard where old sheds are. Probably was the only dry spot when
