1927 Jan.1. Warmer. 2 Thrashers competing in song. Jan.2. Warm. James improving. Jan.3. Fog in morning-close. Warm sunny afternoon. Jan.4. James much better. Thule fog all day. Jan.5. Rain- not cold. Jan.6. Partly cloudy-colder. Rain afternoon-& all night- Jan.7. Banded Thrasher on table. Birds very numerous and hungry.- Thrasher, Thrusher & Titmouse, 2 Wrentits, many juncos. Fox Spar. Brown and Spotted Towhees and at times Golden-er. Sparrows - Also 2 S-quail. Jan.10- Rained all night. Jan.11- Not cold- Cloudy - Thrashers singing- Jan.13. Chilly. Fog over bay, clearing over hills. Many birds feeding- Jan.17. Banded birds noticed on feeding ground: 2 female quail with new bands on right foot; 1 Fox Sparrow with new band on left foot; 1 female Spotted Towhee with new band on right foot; Jan.21. Dr. Grinnell brought his class to watch the birds. Very cold, clear. A continuous stream of birds came to table from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. including Song Sparrows, Fox Sparrows, juncos, Spotted Towhees, Brown Towhees, Hermit Thrushes, Wrentits, Titmouses, Blue Jay,(22)Quail and Thrasher. The Jay and Quail did not come up on the table. Jan.23. Warmer, clear.
