1926 is heard frequently near the house. Weather cooler. Oct. 22. Two Robins came to the pool to bathe. More than a dozen quail come each day to table. Oct. 23. Warmer. Golden-crowned Kinglets abundant. (1) Fox Sp. minustalis. Oct. 24. Fog over bay, clearing over the hills in early morning - Warm. Robins(2) at pool again - Junco's about Oct. 25. Warm - gave talk on Winter Birds at Hillside School. Oct. 26. Warm - Fog over bay at night. Saw W. Winter new in garden. Oct. 27. Warm - light north wind. Oct. 28. Cooler with fog. Oct. 29. Drive to Boulder Creek - a beautiful day. Night cold. Oct. 30. Frost in early morning but very warm during the day. Moved the fence to include 40 ft... recently bought. Birds very abundant. Very large flocks of Robins, Junco's, Chickadees, Wilson Goldfinches - Many Flickers on the Barker place. (1) Flock of Cedar Waxwings; Also Hermit Thrushes, Jays (Calif. & Steller) Black Phoebe, Towhees (Sp. & Br.), Song Sp., Dot v Golden-cr. Sparrows, G-c Kinglets H-c Kinglets, Nutron Vireo, Calif-woodpecker, On the way, Butcher Birds & Sparrow Hawks, (1) Kildeers. Lunch at Santa Cruz - dinner at home. Oct. 31. Warm - Nov. 1. Junco's seen on table 3 times. Flock of Cedar Waxwings and great numbers of Robins, G-c & Dot. Sparrows in Sunny Aubel. Warm.
