Grosbeak singing near house. Apr. 20. Snail came in flock 12-15 - Titimice still feeding young - Apr. 21. I think I heard the Lazuli Bunting from across the canyon near the dairy. Apr. 22. Snail as usual - Titimice feeding yq- Apr. 23. Left house at 8 a.m. after finding 12-15 snails. Beautiful weather. Went to Lake Mired with ladies - Many Bonaparte and Calif. Gullson bay - Also Cormorants. At Lake Mired: Western Grebes - many 34 species Eared Grebes ". Loons ( Pac.? ) 12-15 Bon. Gulls - many Farallone Cormorant Brent " (white tufts on shoulders) Mallard - several Ruddy Ducks ". N? Phalaropes - 10-12 Black-cv. Night Heron (1) Coots - several Snail - flushed 8-10 pro - Mourning Doves - many Belted Kingfisher Allen Hummers - very ab W. Flycatcher - 2 1 Female Blackbird - streaked - on golf links.
