1926 Feb. 27. Many robins in canyon. Singing at dawn. Titmouse near house with mate never gives Peter call. Calls Cassini's, Sweet, tit-tit-tit, Chickadee, dee-dee- Is Peter called used only when seeking mate? Has been coming to table with mate since early in January - Gardening with Janie. Mar. 1. Very warm still - Balmy - no chill in air - 78\deg- Mar. 2. Cooler. Fog on bay. Mar. 3. Jane talks on Central Asia before International Relations Section. Gardening - Flicker drumming. Mar. 4. Cooler, foggy - Housecleaning - Feeling so well after a month of Bacillus acidophilus" Flicker drumming on Radio pole. Mar. 7. Beautiful weather again. Dunail still comes in flock. Mar. 11. Went with Janie to Golden Gate Park. A wonderful day, Warm, no wind. Visited Aquarium, Acad. of Sciences and Jap. Tea Garden where we had lunch. Mar. 12. Went with group of ladies up canyon in search of birds. Found many Lutescent Warblers and Vigoro Weas- Spotted Towhees not very abundant - Sparrows few - Cat House Wren at old Dutch Ranch. Full list, Red-tailed Hawk, Sh. Sh. Hawks, Burgyard's Marsh Hawk (?)-m- White rump), Quail, Flicker, Black Phoebe, Calf Jay, Coast Jay, Anna H., Allen H., Meadow Lark, Linnut, Purple Finch, Orise Siskin, [illegible], Song Sp., Antiruidiate Sparrow.
