Nov. 14-24. Beautiful weather. Enough north wind to keep air clear. Very warm on Nov. 24 - day of big game in stadium Nov. 24 - Colder. Nov. 30. Weather has been colder than last week but very pleasant. Hear Varied Thrush and W-Winter Wren frequently. Drove to St. Helena yesterday. Delightfully warm there. Large flocks of blackbirds and a number of hawks. Dec. 4. Colder weather but warm in protected sunny spots. Saw W. Guatcatcher in Sunny Gulch. Dec. 5. Saw two W-Guatcatchers together in Sunny Gulch. Dec.10 - Rain. W Robin at drinking fountain. Dec.11. The Calvert Sheds across the canyon was white with frost. Clear after rain. Dec.12. Rain again-all day. Dec. 13. Frost. Clear. Dec.14. Clear, chilly. Dec.14 - Dec.23- Clear weather, Lunch at Sangrey, Dinner at Kings City. Dec.23 Drove to Paso Robles - Arrived about 8:30 p.m. Very frosty. Robins in orchards. Dec.24. Drove on from Paso Robles about 9 a.m. Everything white with frost till late in the morning. Lunch at Santa Maria (11:30). hunting for museum. Spent some time at Santa Barbara, Supper at Oxnard. L.A. at 10 p.m. Dec.25. Beautiful warm day - Family party. Dec.26 Warmer. Left L.A. about 11 a.m. Drove to San Pedro, Long Beach (lunch) thin on to San Diego by shore. Many Pelicans and Coots at Anaheim Landing. Reached La Jolla about 6 p.m. High tide.
