Sept. 30 - Heard one note of Ruby-crowned Knight. Not repeated. Oct. 1 Several Intermediate Sparrows came into the near lact meadow. Heard Ruby crowned Knights call note several times. Black Phoebe war-dairy- Days growing more changeable with cooler evenings but warm in middle of day. No hot winds yet this fall. Oct. 2. Many Intermediate and G-c. Sparrows about. Oct. 3. G-c. Sparrow came to pool. Oct. 4. Ruby-crowned Knight and Audubon Warbler about. Warm. Oct. 6. A Cooper Hawk flapped and soared above Moonwood Road. Tail rounded. Oct. 10. A Hermit Thrush was chuck-chucking at early dawn under my window. Oct. 11. A Fox Sparrow sang at 7: 15 and later was seen bathing in the pool. Rained quite hard at night. Oct. 12 Went with Jamie and Cousin Mamie to Golden Gate Park. Crossed bay by Auto Ferry fr. 7 th St. at 9 A.M. Many Cormorants on aders sign out in bay. On N. Lake were Coots, Puddy & Mallard. Ducks, Black Phoebe, R-c. & G-c(3) Knights and Vantall Sparrows. At the beach were Gulls, Brown Pelicans (13-15). A flock of about 50 ducks flew Southward just off shore. Look over water: On Stony Lake were Puddy & Mallard Ducks, Coots, Black Swans and White Pelicans on the Island. On the return trip across
