Aug. 13. Drove to Boulder Creek, left Berkeley 1:30 p.m. Reached Boulder 6:15. via Scenic Crzy. Aug. 14. Cassin Vireo, Creper, Black-headed Grosbeak, Olive-sided Flycatcher heard calling. Yellow Warbler sang several times. Left for Berkeley at 12:20 p.m. Warm with high fog in early morning. Many young goldfinches seen at Inspiration Point. Large flocks of Brewer Blackbirds in fields in valley. Berkeley Aug. 16. Heard Iridescent, Toluca (singing), and Pileolated Warblers and Russel-backed Thrush. Aug. 17. Iridescent and Pileolated Warblers, Russel-backed Thrush. Virgin's Vireo singing. Aug. 18. " Aug. 19. " Aug. 20. A Black-headed Grosbeak flew into the deciduous trees above us " on the hill. Aug. 26. Heard Creepers, Coast Jay, Cassin Vireo, Wood Pewee, Russel-backed Thrush, Purple Trich and Goldfinches during morning. Returned by train to Oakland in p.m. Saw from Train: 1 Butcher Bird, 2 Sparrow Hawks, 3 Turkey Buzzards, 3 Barn
