mile camp 27 denisk miles since leaving Nudiapila and have been six days on the way. The two men Jonas & Peter who came with me from Nudiapila "stuck by" well altho ice was very bad and food & fuel scanty. They have asked a bonus of five kroner and I am giving it. Both are extremely good on thin ice and cheerful in face of difficulties. I shall use them further if they will go. I am taking two because of the bad ice, and necessity of help in case one or two sleds break thro. Folies is of little use, more except as he understands my Jor eshono language. The mail has not been able to get either way between Upernavik and Illahuk. I hope I can with one for the latter place, probably cannot get there.
