Feb. 27
Today tried hard to get over the glacier but could not. Cold & windy.
Open water extends 4 way up ford if wind goes down will freeze in 3 days. Probably will wait here. No seal hunting today. Am cooking on seal oil stove and it is very smoky.
Feb 28
Sent men after seals while waiting for ice to thicken.
The open smoke of yesterday has skimmed over much ice at last;
One small seal today.
Took small brushwood fire today. Fairly cold.
Feb. 29
Moved Tent & edge the ice, men after seals again. Beach Brush would like prospects good for tomorrow.
