5-9-29 Demageria blacea, Nyman p.34. Young fr. Southlands growing with C. paraguana Sprengeri by purple Barbivinia. Spikelets all ov secund on under side, grassy Spikelets not quite sessile, having pedicel 1 mm. Occasionally esp toward base Spikelets are as one having pedicel 1/2 of 3mm. Plant 2 1/4 in high. 1/4 hiden 1/2 in view. Mature legule 1.5 + mm long. Spikelets 1-1/2 in long.
5-9-29 Plant thought to be Anthlyza aethiopica, l. has red seeds 3/8 x 1/4 in the cells apparently not containing more than 21-3 or 4 seeds. Capsule 1/2in high. Flat stalk creased in huts near top.
5-9-29 Clerophyllum Cainto, l. p.385. BMG.C.P.670. Southlands. Doffa fr. Plant only 2-3 ft high. Low 2 1/2 x 1 1/2 in and abruptly acute, base then entire dark green velveting above. Beneath beautifully silver brown silky. Pedicles long pale brown lomentose esp on lower side. two or many parallel cross veins, noticeable esp below. Lf conduplicate in aechination green velvety inside from the beginning. x In upper quarry are there 4 ?7.
