H. Rosa cinerea). Obtuse or broadly acute at apex rounded or sub- cordate at base. 5-7-nerved, entire below but low crenate from the middle & below. Peduncle jointed (as in H. Rosa cinensis) involucres bracts linear, 7/1 flary-studied 3/8 in long. Calyx 1 in long cut 2/4 way into 5 broadly lanceolate lobes. Calyx lobes except mid-rib edges. finely pubescent inside & calyx shew signs of starry pubescence outside (as in H. Rosa cinensis). Ovary slightly pubescent esp. toward top. Corolla about 3 in long. 5-6-29 Cryptostegia grandiflora P.B. p297 B.M.C.N.608. (See 4-29-29) May flowe. Fl. Follicles & spreading cluadat at stamules to st at its apex 3 in long x 1/2 wide across top and as wide or almost 20 on the other 2 faces, the 3 angles esp. the upper 2 averaged. Finely divided Centelle but as 2-160 20-87 v4-5-29 Lvs have #### deep veins so narrow that margis fter overlap. Bracts of involuce 2, broadly ovate, 3mm long x 3.5 mm wide. Umbilic. & 3 almost reseble flo. Petals 6, greenish with purple edges, esp on back, edges minutely jagged but patal not acute not emarginate or with inflexed tip. Stamens 6, anthers purple. Petals rote 4.5 mm long & equally broad, not clawed but sub-cordate at base, with more or less evident ridge down centre. Inside Ovary at anthecis about 2mm high x 3 mm wide, glabrous except for a few long sprouting hairs on edges.
