4-1-29 Panicum geminatum, Forb. p.16 Fl. Devonshire Marsh (not remembered whether in shallow water. Sp. collected a summit 14th high. 1/2 sheaths overlapping and V crossing crowded, flattened, fine. Infl 3-4 1/2 in, 1/2 raceme (which 7-12 X looks like a spike) with the branches closely appressed against the underside of the triangular or winged rachis. These branches 3/4-3/4 in long, the rachis similarly second winged bearing very short pedicelled spikelets, and alternately disposed in 2 rows. Spikelet 2 1/2 mm long, the first scale turned at apex, clasping the spikelet, 1mm long & for twice as broad, upline with at least 2 green nerves, the fourth scale finely ridged but longitudinally. The whole plant glabrous except: ligule bearing 7 fine hairs, pedicels finely pubescent, the 3 edges of secondary rachis finely ciliate (20 x) and edges of primary rachis v low under a lens rough (20 x) roughened (20 x) with fine teeth. Plants forested. X #100 & #96. 4-1-29 Vicia Floryng fr. East end of Berry Hill Rd 1/5 in well 1/4 to 7/8 mm x 3-4 mm or less, the numerous mucronate tips being 1mm, ciliate, v scattered hairs below, few if any hairs above. Stipules sharply toothed more or less half-sagittate with dark spot in large lobe &t hairy like under side of lvs. Lvs linear. flory Fl solitary, axillary, very short peduncled, 1/4 or more in long. Stand- and blue, lighter toward centre with white claw, wings bright purple, veinaling a very
