As comp. with M. indica lvs are as desc (BM) C.P.404 and plant has blueish rather than yellow ish cast but would be hard to distinguish without fl. fr. Eachly subtended by at least one large bract 1½ in x ¼in, edges hyaline & ruffled, lobed at top with middle dobe suborbicular, completely overlap. amongsting lateral lobes, laccate wedge, 2d sheathe with broadly lanceolate bract 1½ in long. Group of young frs at node of new shoot (2 in long) fr is subtended by bract as described above which bears about ⅓ distance below apex a flattened linear, lanceolate appendage in long which expands into small spatulate tip.
