Sts lvs finely puberulent & thus some- what clinging to touch. 3-30-29 Verbena bonariensis, p 311 Fl Wreck House. 4ft. St. sharply 4-angled & channeled on the 2 ups of each (alt with lvs). Villous hirsute through lvs & desc. Bracts lanceolate acuminate, stiff hairy, ciliate, purplish or edges. 4mm long onto fixing Calyx by abt 1/2mm. Calyx 3+mm., pubescence coarser & stiffer than "delicate" Corolla tube 4mm. Its limb 3-4mm wide. Stigma 3-unequal lobes: 1 blunt, the othr apicular & smaller. The 4 stamens inserted at 2 diff lengths on tube. 3-30-29 Plantago lanceolata, L. 357 Top of Wreck Hill Flv fr. Calyx lobes sometimes torn away as the fact that they are reflexed & spreading not evident to eye. Pyxis circum- cissile well below middle. 3-30-29 Caleule lanceolata O.F. Schulz. p 153. Flv fr. Wreck House. Zuck in upper joint ascending, in lower joint pendulous. X ? 3-30-29 Apium Petroselinum L. p 275 Fr. more less mature. Wreck House. Involute bracts usually 1 sometime 2. Involved bracts scarious margined half of length, &awl-pointed above. Lvs in shoots at base Not (top) of thickland root) look small deltoid parallelly.
