2 1/2 in, papaverones (opened file) 3 in. Bracts broad clamping caved at base all but top and into the lowest 2 1/4 in. only very long accu- minate, white at base to cover more, green. Perianth segs. entirely white, crate the 3 outer very slightly beeked x slightly 4-5 lobed at apex, the middle point bud. mig, the inner three not at all beeked but but more or less, tho slightly 3-noted cel. x (These beek tips greenish in bud but not in fl.) Begm. 1/8 in x 1/16 in. 2 Stamens 1/2 in high, filaments brownened at base. Ovary 5/16 in high, 3 lobed very dark green on top s sides, light green at base. Prst 3-28-27 was this. #-1-29 if bought by Mrs. Day about 2 1/4 in wide 3-28-29 Called "Fayal Lily" by Mr. Allan Smith. 3-30-29 Papaver dubium Up 14 3 Fls unripe fr. Field on No Rd near Riddells Bay prb towards Ward. like desc 2-26-27. Disk 8-g at quake rays. Hairs on fls at spreading, and (20x) minutely toothed. Hairs on ped- nule coarse, stiffer, closely ap- presented, not toothed. Petals readily slightly darkened at base but not "with darkened centre" Filaments very dark purple. 3-26-29 Papaver Fls unripe fr. field no side 1/4 mile rd to Weels Hill just S west of Ormit- galum House. St simple x leafy. Basal at low similar 1 1/2 -2in by 1/2 -3/4 in oblong almost the same width throughout - a little wider above middle & sometimes, coarsely doubly dentate but not pinnatifid, the primary teeth being only 1/3 the depth of the half leaf. Edge of lf revolute so that each tooth forms little pocket beneath. Each primary v some secondary teeth and pointed.
