with a toothed hair. Midrib cop- spicuously hairy with toothed hairs. Basalvs (the lowest ones gone) seem to have been fertiled. But from very near the base all are sessile clasping, acute at apex. Peduncle with conspicu- ous spreading but not toothed hairs. Calyx hairy. Petals very pale pinkish-lavender with large purple spot at base. Petalsmeas ures without fluttering are 1 1/2 in. x 1-1 1/4 in mostly wedge shaped at base. Filaments purple & style? alightly dilated upward. Ovary unre-shaped, narrow at base, swel- ing upward with almost parallel sides, narrowing a little at top so capsule is prob not like P. somniferum pt 2. stigmatic lines. 7-8 purple. Capsule glabrous. Invt & hairs etc as mentioned. Pale Green, prob. glaucous.
