Aren twigs closely pubescent. 2 scales on them, very young twiggy from the thin edge of calyx lobes ciliate, otherwise glabrous. Calyx lobes petals 5 in 2 buds studied. Ovary 3-celled, 5-9-29 Fl Southlands 4-11-29 Southlands, shrub 4ft. Trunk brown smooth not unlike Pimenta. 3-28-29 Mrs. Allen Smith saw the same fl. like plant found in seed in Jan. v pressed is "Mexican Dew" flowers. N: Cleas exoticae Mullays p 202 BMJCP444 "Citronella a Bartdoschanel," a shrub pointed out by Mrs. Allen Smith. (Could this be L. of the microniera Solms, p3/2) Not collected, no see 4-11-29 "Erect" 4-11-29 Twig from some shrub (assumed broad) collected No fls or fr. Shrub not more than 5 ft of that. Bark pale. Twigs slender, green, rough with warts, pubescent with short tips, card arching hairs. Lvsalt to 3-28-29 1¾" x½" in, broadly obovate, cuneate at base, rounded above middle the upper part very indistinctly crenulate, the lower entire acute at a apex but the very tip is blunt glabrous above, minutely pubescent beneath (reviewed on 20k) of glands dots on both sides of limns. Color ? crenulated fl not very strong. 5-9-29 Same plant, of light green in sun with color.(Is this the same as seen at Harrington House 4-25-29 which Mrs. Tuggdesk as having edible fruit berries) see 5-13-29. Lvs alt., pinnate with 5 more alternate, which are all sprue appearance, see pbs. 3-28-29 Southlands No fls or fr. Low edging plant grey with spody brownish. Right lts stems with red alt branches very long. Lvs thick almost brittle, largest at apex alt and seemingly 4-15-20 very close together.
