3-29-29 Eltis mississippiensis. Bee. Fl & & appearing with the Tree at gate into banana patch across the road from so end of Valley Way. Sepals rotamens 5 or usually 6, & fls at base of twig in clusters usually 3 (poss subdivided by fugacious bract) some the uppermost in axil of fl. & towards tip of twig 1-3 miles & fl. Bud covered by enveloping scale. Fl disciculates from peduncle at top of peduncle. Stems large vinecurved. The sepals & seems somewhat flattened with 20 pps petal sepal a little keeled. Lvs olate, entire, long acuminate glabrous. 3-nerved inequilateral a base. 3-29-29 Laurocerasus caroliniana, no male Bee. Fl from tree on Middle Rd just west of Valley Way. x 3-30-29 Quagra ceae. Fl found by Miss Day from beach west of Warried Camp. Undoubtedly from plants same as P.R.K. found near Fort Royal Cove 3-20-27 and 3-28-29. Fls yellow petals 4, 1/4 in long under 1/8 - 1/6 in, obvate, slightly emarginate and irreg. crenate at tips. Stamens & & stam (at least in bud) to be equal, tho this is not all sure. 1 1/2 in wide diag. 1 1/4 in wide narrowest measurement. Calyx whs, strongly reflexed, almost 3/4 in (5/8 + in), the projection at back of lips being 1/6 in calyx tube 1 3/4 - 2 in beyond ovary. Ovary 1 in long. Fl. solitary
