(F) Very young fr. only & flo found, some varios still bearing style. (b) from same tree 8'v 2 fl. ? #/32 #s 3-23-29 Meranium Carolinianum, p141 Lf like ill. St. purplish green, fubescient with straight white hairs appressed with tip downwards. Hairs very thick, less closely appressed but pointing downward at top of petioles. Lf 2 in long x 2 1/4 wide. Pubescence scattered above & on the nerves beneath. Lf ciliate. Lf-hairs pointing upward. Base pubescent 8'1/2 in., upper petioles 3 1/2 in. Each lobe lf serrucrate with short brown glandular tips (20x) Peduncle of fto only fl out 1 3/4 in, pedicel almost 1/4 in. At top of peduncle 4 linear lanceolate bracts 3/4 in long and one dim what appears to be sessile apetalous fl (perhaps rudimentary) Defla. 5mm long (1mm being awl & fo) sate, 3 nerved, pubescent but not glandular (See 3-12-29), byaline edged and long ciliate (See 3-12-29) Petais pale rose 4 1/2 mm. slightly
