But not altogether like dece. Infl. & branched each branch subtended by long acuminate bract Fl serice each subtended by hairy acuminate bract which subtends also two which are smaller lateral bracts, hairy acum. inate v scariosus margined. Tube narrow, 1/2 in long, slightly curved widening at top, lobes regular, the 3 under lobes wider than the 3 upper [illegible] grasped (as outer are not) and less gradually tapering to base. All lobes blue more or less mottled white but the upper inner lobe (or sometimes more than one) of the inner lobes] with more definitely slit center. Stamens 3, slot markedly deluded (thus usually the anthers appear all at one side of stigma), rising from throat of p. the outside lobes. The style 3 branched, the branches flattened, [illegible] & appear less ciliate irregularly split at ends. Ovary hairy, 3 lobed, 3 celled, ovules many. Stamens v style all blue. 3-23-29 Tamarix gallica, L p244 v B.M.J.C.P. 306. No flops. Grassmere. This is the common T. of Bermuda & the only one in B.F.O.B. but differs from dece in B.M.J.C.P. In not beaded nor "scariosus margined (20x) young hrs punctate (20x) Lr to 3 mm long.
