"2-18-29" Ipomoea Norfalliae "labeled" Agri Stat in arbor leading southern from from Reyes. Prof Convolvulaceae & perhaps Ipomeea Norfalliae, Holm p 507 v BM JCP 613. Vine glabrous. Vines. If more or less circular quadrium digitately compound 2' to 3 ft. Lfts 3 1/4 x 1/2 in to mid-lft 5 1/4 x 2 in. Along obovate acuminate at apex narrowed to a sessile base. Entirely undulate, veins pinnate, few anastomosing. Flo thus articulated 3 x 1, 6-8" with evidences of bases of bracts. Pedicel thickened toward top. Sepals bronze green, lacking convex bladderid, with a winged edge extending flatly onto corolla. Calyx 1/2 in less deep. Corolla tubular regular 3 in long, with 5 ovals lanceolate lobes 7/8 in deep. Bright scarlet. Stamens 5-equal length-attached at base of tube. filament hairy with densely hairsy ring at base. Stamens long enough to anther to reach to base of corolla lobe. Style one (stigma not on specimen) vary seated in disk. 2 celled with 2 ovules basally attached in each cell. Ovaries twice as long as how lateral v pars papillose maybe. * 3-21-29 plant labeled Clypistoma callistegioides. Outside of corolla glutinous in bed (which to fingers a studied certification indicate). Ovary seems 1-celled with parietal placenta, one lid opened showed stigma, 4 lobes. 1 staminode, 3 normal stamens, 1 stamen with 1/2 pollen cells, 2 stamens (evidently 1 filament splitting just above base) with 1/2 another parted cell.
