7-26-34 Monday. Petals may well have been
spiculate. R.B.K has no doubt this is same species
as 8-27-34 and in light of dec 16-12-31 thinks it
virtually sure that all plants taken for S alpina
fell up to now (ie 6-12-31, 7-31-31, 7-4-33) were all this.
7-26-34 Geranium campetris l. Costa II 571; Box 216
R9H314; SV/TL 530 FR R.de N. western ridge. Icor paletat
( decidedly brooded towards tip) hence ssp campestris.
and acc to SVK II 275 must be var germanica
since the at-lw are very acute and internodes
def shorter than lvs. Note that one plant bears several
flo 4-merous and several flo which has 5-stamens
& 5 corolla lobes (1) these has 3 instead of 2 small cplx.
lobes). P is not however a hybrid with G germanica
Willd (which has never been found in R.de N. region) since
calyx is plainly that of G campestris [9-3-34 FL large Corolla
white or very faintly tinged purplish.]
7-26-34 Salix pseudandra l. Costa III 270; Box 289; R9H 424;
BMJCP 224; 4321; SVK 183 FR almost stripe. Caux short cut
Homed'Enfants -> Guide home's house. Lvs conspicuous varnish-
ed shiny above or petiole petiolar glands which often
bear several glands near tip [base?] Node fler also
bears glands. Axis inflo softly hairy. Scales all fallen.
Two glands sometimes found, the anterior one nar-
anterior
tower than the rather broad anterior one but mostly
the anterior gland (ie not nearest the axis of infl.)
