Our V. sax - the largest is (2 x 4 mm) and teeth some- times more distinct than in our V. sax.- (But on many sts the two V. fruits & V. sax are so nearly alike as to be of no help in ident.) V. fruct- is gland-pubescent on pedicels, calyx &c but in one plant of V. sax there is gland-pubescence only somewhat slighter (See SVKI). Distinguishing pt. on 7-5-31 not helpful. 7-26-34 Alsinia Clierleri Fenzl Costa I 202 = A. sedoides Kt B9H 70; = Cheleria sedoides L. Bon 51 = Meriartia sedoides Hiern SVKI 243 FL. Rockside Naye persb on rocks, btw Hotel & Alpine Garden, near Cineraria lactea. Sepals yellowish green 3 mm long. Petals when present a mere subulate point. Desc SVKI good? (See 8-27-33) has short ciliate base and may be like S. sileneaceae. Lvs 4-5mm long (S. acaulis but lvs 1/3rd) 7-26-34 Sagina Linnari Presl Costa I 198; Bon 48: S. saginoides Della Torre B9H 69; SVKI 242 FL of fr. R de N. persb with borer. Petals 1/2 as long as sepals 7-26-34 Sedum atratum L. Costa II 112; Bon III; SVKI 322 withering fl & fr in all stages. Rockside Naye, western ridge. Plants plainly annuals with no sign of sterile shoots. 3 1/2 - 6 1/2 cm high, simple or branched from below mid- dle. Stems and fr dark red except on the spurs which are quite dead. Calyx lobes acute when fresh and curl score 20
