S. viridis 2 mm); 2nd glume not quite as long n as lemma as lemma (in S. viridis 2nd glume = lemma) lemma smooth (in S. viridis family v finely transversely striate.) Perhaps this is var. moharica Ref: SVK II 21. Largest infls 4x1 cm. Bristles dark purple, extending 3-4 mm beyond the epilete. Sts, how I see exactly as in S. viridis. Conf also with S. gleinea. (Can't be Bambagua luso since the lower branches of infl are not arranged in whorls but are decidedly "dicht gedrÃĪngt".) 9-8-34 Hordeum distichon L. SVKI 88; BM CP 117 = H. distichon L. Cortelli 651, Fl v young fl. Villerene Dumps. Exactly as deeevill (Corte). Spike 18 cm long (without awns) 9-8-34 Poa annua L. Corte III 616; Bon 363; BSH 5-37; G 155; SVKI 70 Fl v fr. Villerene also seen frequently at Alion 9-8-34 Amaranthus caudatus L. BMCP 253; SVK II 98. Fl v fr. Cult. Rd Alion -> Cafe des Narcisses (little house on west side) fl'd before reaching C dest.). No question of identity. Spfl hanging very limply. When well developed infl is 12 in long with 5-7 articule with an effect | an artificial tassel inside. Amand Villerene had been loosely twisted. This looks a limited effect is due to the length of the bracts.
