neuve Damps also near Chicken House just north of Plene.
Infl 12 in long x 3/4 in wide, heavy, thickly changing low
to 1-1/4 in wide. At lower end Infl the bristles do not
extend beyond first spicules but at upper end Infl
bristles start on spicules by 2-3 mm. Note 2-
Glume does not completely cover the lemma (SVKI Costa).
This is var maxima of SVK II 21. Infl much more
dense than ill (Costa) but distinctly lobed. Cf with S. viridis P.B.
8-17-34 Ranunculus lingua L. Costa I 25; Bon T; BVH 8; SVKI
26, 3 Fl. On the accustomed road from Villeneuve marbles
-> Neville on right just before reaching 1st house (on
right) Doubtless same place as 7-18-34. No flower seen
on 7-18-34 at this reached for a little further along the road.
Plant has runners (SVKI). Petals 20 x 15 mm.

fly seen & perhaps collected in this region before but
non resident since 7-11-32). Cf with G. palustre L.
from which it is easily distinguishable by
1. Stand, branches much much rougher
2. hzs. very much rougher (the forward parting
