that St. (at least at S.) is so deeply ridged as to be almost wing angled. Plant seems strongly annual tho' the part of its slender root is horizontal (as might be the case with a plant sending out slender runners) with no signs [of sterile] etc. St. curved ascending at base & then strictly erect 4-5 mm. with ? high, branching near base, also stiffly erect & reading almost as high as main St. I know nothing but obviously were cylindrical flowers (and without apices at base) while plant inc. Carpels turning a dull rose or lilac sepals not apiced? Petals (withered) whitish, very sharply tipped, longer (but not twice as long) as sepals. Carpels apiculate. Stamens 10, other parts ?. Plant quite glabrous. All Cate muscle too loose, ill Barberiee. 8-27-33 Carex pallescens L. Cate II 518, Bon 336, BvH 54, & 238, SVKI 116 Ft. Jaman Bowl. 6 in high. Perqpyria along with no deals. 8-27-33 ? Calamintha officinalis Moench. Cate III 96, Bon 249 (See BvH 365 v ill #298) = Satureja Calaminta selw. ssp silvatica Berg. Fl. Klion. SVKI 579 This is the plant common at Klion and little thought to be ssp ascendens Berg (SVKI) (See 9-4 and 26-31) The arguments in favor of ssp silvatica are (1) hore regularly & tolerably deeply toothed (2) the flw reach beyond the outblinding los. The peduncle is as long or (usually) longer to twice as long as the petiole.
