Burna says it is wild - By manuals in appearance & parts it would be M. sylvestris, but the erect plants are ft. high and much branched (with long up curved branches) from base; these again slightly branched. The whole effect much more bush-like than the M. s- in Mallorca. Stongh with long (2-3mm) tubercles-based hairs (not thickly placed) v without any star-hairs. Petiole & pedicels similar- ly hairy (evident to eye). Pedicels 1/4in long (than on axils of smaller branches). Calyx 4-4½ mm high, star- present. Pistole & calcule long ciliate esp. frivious isdeemfr. ripe). Full grown fs. (not yet dry) is 7mm diam. fr which axis is 2mm flat-conical. Calyx of fs shows no star-hairs but is ± striose. Lvs (image with hairs only on veins beneath. Dvery whether this is var mauritanica? BMJCP 484 = M. maritima. L SVII 346.
