8-1-33 twice as long as internode except the uppermost (immnd. below infl) which is very slightly shorter than node. Lowest leaf cca 8 x 4.5cm, the four above it narrower, the uppermost 33x7mm (i.e. shaped like a bract). Flw ±18. The lip has 2 (but not 3 as in B0H08IT) decidedly crenulate gillbristles at base of forward section, or rather the 2 gillbristles merge almost together. This is in distinct contrast to E. labiata of 7-30-33 where the gillbristles were flattened & smoothish. Fl also less wide open than E. l. is remembered but the opening from base of lower lip is wider. Base of lip dark red inside, the forward section a paler dirty purple. Other parts more a less purple tinged on green but fl not as dark as purple as suggested in the books. WOODS (vanilla plant considerably withered when received). This raises question whether plants of 6-27-31 and 8-12-31 then thought to be E. labiata may poss. have been E. atropurpurea? No question about E. labiata of 7-30-33! General aspect of plant, low infl very like ill B0H08IT well except if the 3 gillbristles in all and the part which is the full face view fl looks like a stand-up collar at top of forward portion of lip. Plant green not reddish. St 13 inches as eh.
