A. pub - are open flats as in A. vul - BOTH ALSO good for flo but plant is erect just 'decumbent, and + 25 cm high (SVK says 16-20cm) If not A. pubescens, this must be zone form of A. vulgaris that P.B.T. cannot dis- entangle from SVKII. 5-20-34 Salix pratensis L. Cote # 101, Box 258, BVH 357 BMCP 639, SVK 1569 Flo ♂ and flo ♀. Klein - Verifying SVKI. ♂ flo 18mm overall. ♀ flo 13 mm overall with stamens poorly developed no pollen. Note that the largest flo is larger than SVK # but stamen ovilla projects beyond calyx (Kiel) only about 1cm. 5-20-34 ? Ulmus campestris L. Cote # 351, Box 283 BVH 415 All # 328, 4345, BMCP 233, SVK 1202 Lo only (no fr seen this U. glabra Hudson is now in fr at Klein) from small (perhaps young) tree on rid above Planswood -> Avi Massillon. Plants & glaba 5-15-34. Largest lf 2 3/4 x 1 1/2 - 2 inches. Hence very like BVH All II (See Cote propd of U. glabra). Lo wrinkly rugose on entire surface (U. glabra has surface smooth or almost smooth between the lateral nerves in central portion) lf. Lo softer & less scabrous than U. glaba teeth at ends of lateral nerves are broader & rounder, less acute & less upward curved. Twig hairy as stated by B.M./C.P. v BVH All II (SVK I says not). Of with Corylus avellana which has no tufts of hairs in axils as ? U. campestris has.
