5-5-34 Salix palearre L. Cote II 243, Box 142, BVH 221, #1749, SVKI 633 FL Villeneuve-Bouveret. Stemming to 2 1/2 in from a slender leafing, rooting base. largest lf 6x2 mm, glabrous serr edges. This seems same as "C" of 8-2-33 5-5-34 Salix triandra L. Cote III 271, Box 287, BVH 4214, SVKI 184. Off FL. Path behind garage at Bouveret Plage. Exactly andesc. Catheion very abort ify trigo, 3 stamen, 2 glands (free apt), antler yellow. Trigo channeled. Lwo abortel glabrous, whiteish beneath. Catheion clearly not about 3 cm long, lax; the axis showing. Bract small yellow, 2g lobescent at tip. Largest lf now 17x7 mm and broader about the middle (all ill contra). Bracts lottes semi-circular (1 mm high v rather broader). No stipules now.{See 5-25-34 FL} 5-5-34 Salix alba L. Cote III 271, Box 287, BVH 424, BMGER 224, #322, SVKI 184. Off fls on road shortly south of Noelle and elsewhere. Bract 3x1 mm. Lvs mostly def silley on both sides (A) and at least some lvs in each space taper to the base (SVK). On these two char. S. fragilis is ruled out {but note that the ill do not seem to lean out so it as to dif. in shape} lvs. Thus, S. alba flower frequently 1934] A. Catheion 5 1/2 cm long v fully seen down. B. (Several spce) withered catheion 4 cm long & looking much slander than in A.
