4-20-34 Capsule glabrous, gland (1 ? flo) one and pedicel longer than gland; the only poss. are S. incurva or S. friandra. But the length of style (almost 1 mm) and the very def. silky torus or under side) also point to S. incurva. (This in spite of the fact that the yellowish green scales which turned darker on drying seem too uniform in color for S. incurva). Trigonadity green, bracts yellowish (see 4-29-31). ? catkins ± 2,0 cm, abule. vinsignificant. Scales slightly hairy ciliate esp. at tip. Pedicels 1 mm long, 2 or 3 times as long as the one gland. All Cote ? fl good. 5-1-34 Salix vitellina L. BMJCP 224, Cote III 211, Bm 387 BMH 424 = S. alba L. var. vitellina Koch A 322 = S. alba L. var. vitellina Seringe SvK II 79 & fl v catkins with a few ? fl beside the stls. Glen cemetery. This so yellow with the bright yellow wand- like branches in spring (Clet also just below the Hotel Victoria Laundry). Catkins 3-4 cm slender, to glabrous. Scales, yellowish, inconspicuous, somewhat hairy. Stamens 2, free, with gland foreaft. Capsule glabrous, pedicel now no longer than its one (usually 2-lobed) gland. Style very short. No very som quite glabrous; glaucous beneath.
