thicker than in C. montana and more bronzy
in effect (they are less purplish and have a broad,
green mid-veins lacking in C. montana at this st.
[The] 3? spikes near together at tip [?] at least Corte et.),
the upper sessile, the lowest on slender pedicle which
is completely hidden in the same sheath & bract.
This bract has green subulate tip 1 cm which extends
about ⅓ of the way up the lowest ♂ spike. Scales shaped
as if Corte, bronzy brown with green mid-vein which
widens toward the base. Utricles now no longer than
scales) 2½–3 × 1¼ mm; indistinct on middle (not as
if [Corte]); beak extremely short or slightly bidentate.
Hair on utricle shorter than on C. montana & nerves
certainly fewer v less distinct.

Three stems each bearing only a terminal ♂ spike.
In every other respect seems exactly like the ♀-
bearing plants.
