4-14-34 Narcissus Pseudo-Narcissus L. Cote III 378, Bon 306, BVH 470, BMJ C.P 187 Fl. Brought by Mae Drage from Champagne. Sepals not def. edged (Cote) but very def. ridge-furrow?
Mysotis areensis (continued from 4-11-34) are bent slightly outward to make room for corolla limb. Corolla opens pale pinkish & turns pale yellow but not a pure blue as it is supposed, from center outward, with pinkish white. (M. sil-is a much more nearly uniform blue). Corolla never as absolutely flat as in M. ail-. But corolla at greatest moment is 6.5mm wide which is contrary to Cote p. 305. [This brings the identification into question so far, the differences noted above are not marked enough to meet the demands of the 2 species]. Is also that too basal lobes of ? Marvensis like those of M silvatica are opatulate, broadly rounded at apex & def. embacted into petiole not as described for "pura per refracies".
[5-3-34 Fl opened in house are 6-7mm diam and as flat as and indistinguishable from M. silvatica so this plant is surely Marvatica Hoffm.
