5-24-31 thin, deeply lobed into 5 or usually 7 lobes, the sinuses above the lower pair being wide & cut almost to mid- rib. All lobes entire on sides & dentate at tips, the termi- nal one somewhat 3-lobed at tips & the basal pairs somewhat 2-lobed at tips. Stipules semi-sagitate sickle-shaped 8 x 3mm, dentate all around, same texture as lf. Lf pubescent both sides, blade decurrent as that petioles slightly winged. Thorns single, sharp 6mm long and (20 5-2)-31) when young with radi- cular scales. 5-26-31 Shrub no ft or fr. Cult at home-midwest & elim where paths to kngsde Chandler tables D. Lf 1/2 x 2/4 in, tran- sverse legly deltoid-subdentate at base, palmately veined & deeply cut into 3 lobes, the middle oblong the 2 lateral broader & again lobed toward base. Each of the 3 main basal veins later branch into 3 veins each which terminates in one of the 3 main acute teeth which at tips of lobes. Very young lf covered with yellowish waxy granules.
