5-23-31 Luzula silvatica (See 5-10-31) Fl. well advanced along path to Chillon. Seeds without tubercle appendix any sort at either end. Hilum somewhat lateral. 5-23-31 Trifolium montanum L. (See 5-18-31) Fl. on near Chambavard. Fl more advanced than 5-18-31. 5-23-31 Lathraea squamaria L. (See 4-18-31) Fr. on in V grounds elsewhere. Capsule ivory-white, project- ing somewhat beyond calyx, usually bearing remains of style and withered corolla. Seeds very dark and honey-comb pitted. 5-24-31 Tamus communis L. Conte # 357, (See 383, BVH, 471) Fl. on path to Veytaux. St somewhat striate. V petioles def. ridged in line with veins of lvs. Petiolar glands ref. to (Conte) must be the 2 thick cylindrical (2mm or more long) stipular-like appendages at very base. Rudimentary style 3-furcate at top. 5-24-31 Paulownia tomentosa Steud BMJCP 672, 4723 cult. Fl. Montreux (Fl. col. from tree at Territet in April). corolla gland-bairy outside. Wings & seed (2x) white.
