5-22-31 Actaea spicata L. Cote I 55, Bon II, BVH/15-FI. Glion. General appearance very liberal, spe. Note that in spec.col. a peduncle 2 1/2 in rises opposite 2 lvs, leaves small 3-parted foliate lf. opposite which is a short raceme (1/2 in overall) forming a regletary. le with peduncle. Bet. lf's raceme a continuation of original peduncle 1/4 in leaves another raceme in bud which at its base, subtended by a tiny sim- ple leaf deeply cut lf., bears another tiny raceme rising. Another bed, raceme is ap. pearing in axil bet. lf's main peduncle, and still another lower down in axil bet. main 2d va lower lf. see ill BVH for similar idea but not that for all 3 lvs. Cote much better than BVH. See also ill. Bon. 5-22-31 Sorbus scandica Fries. Cote II 73 = Aria - Done Bon/103.FI. Glion wood edge, jid just west of V-M. If exactly as desc. will Cote. Duff very firm, with slight greenish cast.
