Transcription
8-16-31 narrow lateral lobes, all br finely pectucent on
edges v nerves beneath spicules with upward pointing
hairs. St finely def pub esp near top with downward
pointing hairs. Involucral lvs 18-15, narrow (2 mm
bldrs, shorter than head. Head 2.5 cndium (only 1/2
to measure). Floralcae, the outer radiant. Need infe
1.5 x 1.5 cm (not counting bristles), involucral lvs reflexed.
Body of fr (a.f.s) 3 1/2 mm, deeply furrowed v puctured on the
ridges. Brown 2 mm deep. Bristles 6mm long, black,
very narrow at tips & certainly twice as wide at base
but signs of nerve (if any) very vague. Calyx (into which
bristle are set now bright green) v glandular. Bristles
green at base at antlerios.
8-16-31 Geranium phaeum L. (See 5-24-31) Fl & frs. Jamen
near above. Seed smooth, brown (rather light). When carpel
opens no tuft of hairs at base of auters.
8-16-31 Geranium silvaticum L. (See 5-9-31) F&. Jamen
(cheerful as very common on mountains & wells as it is
when in fl. earlier) Seed smooth, very dark brown. Great
carpel has tuft of white hairs at base of autere.
8/16-31 Rumex arifolius All Cate III 197, Bon 371, B & H 396 and
Ill II #922, SVAI 511. & flv young frs. Jamen near above. Long
of 6 cm. st-lf (2=helw top) 4 stem wide, exactly as will (Cate),
auricles more rounded than ill B & H I., deeply clasping
