with what seems typical E. latifolia. All as seen frequently about Elion. St 10 in high. Lvs small v comp. less broad than E. l-, the largest 7.5 x2 cm and less markedly clasping than E. l.- L. well longer than internodes. bracteas longer than flo, superior bracts somewhat slinter than flo. Flo about 1 4 in. 1-sided spicae, shaped like E. l- as to petals or sepals but smaller (longest sepal 8 mm long) and the outer section of lip, while obscurely crenated like E. l- lacks the dif ferent. stances at base. Color diff from E. l- in that the superior parts are yellowish green with no large & fansful; outer section of lips slightly pale and inside of inner section of lip alone is fansfulic. The greatest diff however is in stigma, as shown by cross section E. latifolia This species -anther -anther M-stigmatic R-stigmatic surface surface In E. l- the anther lies in hollow behind stigmatic surface. In our species anther lies on stigmatic surface so that pollen can fall directly on it. This points directly to E. leptochila, Godfrey BV# 3 LII #343 (no synonym given) Ducey; is this = E. latifolia Cauty, E. viridiflora Reichb. BV#454 descri- bcd in similar terms? and also = Helleborine latifolia Druce var. viridiflora (Hoffm.) Brig 30 K #75 the dese (which makes no mention of stigma but as far as it grows is applicable
