8-12-31 young f. Donbault westward on path to Caux shortly after entering woods. One plant only seen, and imperfect part of it mistaken. Plant over 3 ft. stock, lower leaves ample to 22 in overall by 9 in. Petioles broadly winged, short but blade cut slit into 2-3 pairs large downward pointing lobes, then large triangular terminal lobe. Upper two similar but petioles relatively broader winged & terminal seg. relatively smaller. Curcles flower woodf rounded those on upper lvs also rounded but with ending in point below. Infl glabrous. Udders 4 now 6mm, flat valvate wing edged, prob 5-chend. 8-12-31 Moehringia mucosa L. (See 6-3-31) Fl & fr from Donbault. Seeds (seems to be) 4-6, shining black, the flat shield shaped appendage almost as long as seed (Note M. dasyphylla Dreno which Cato says has large appendage not given in SVR.) Cf'd (refers to) with Arenaria triseriala. similar but a little darker larger v appendage rather taller 8-12-31 Arenaria serpyllifolia L. Cata F 209, Bne 50, Bot 71 A 508 Fl & fr Donbault.
