about 5 x 3.5 mm., slightly exceeding capsule, held
by clawed. Anthers white. [7-5-34 Plt N? Fl Some
spec in early fl have internodes shorter than lvs and
pedicels as long or longer than calyx]. 7-24-34 Fl RdsN. Fl on
bunch plant bear 1-5-4 styles, white dots dried lo (SVK)
plain [20x]
7-23-31 Cirsium spinoissimum Serp. Cat.
# 375, Box 193, SVK F 706. Fl Rockerside Nvy common
at upper end of lower tunnel. Ident chiefly by the
silk. ? Which deeply pinnatifid lvs around
v exceeding the sessile agglomerate heads with
corolla whitish. Ill (Costo) not very helpful as
how much more deeply pinnatifid. Styles
obviously put. Invol. bracts narrow, the older
yellowed tips hardly (at least a.f.s.) prickling.

lf ts which are dentate v usually more a less
luffed (See ill BvH), the sharp teeth whitish outlined
with red on upper surface. Lfts glabrous above and
roughish with hairs or nerve beneath. Differ-
nent lvs small and inflote blade. Rev to 50, in.
