7-22-31 Ranunculus lanuginosus L. (see 5-23-31) Fl v advanced fr. Path R de N - Jaman. 7-22-31 Gentiana nivalis L. Cote #562, Bon 215, 804 313 Fl. Rochers de Naye. St 4-10cm high angled & often reddish. Roots very ample v like annuals. St delicate v r fl., or a little above with 1-3 add fls (1 in each upper axil; or (1 case) 7 stems from root, of which was handled vunglebill (Cote, Bon [BVH]) Fls pediceld (9mm or less) 12-25 mm overall. Calyx somewhat shorter than cor- olla tube, & cut rather more than ½ into linear lobes. Corolla lobes about 4mm long, bright blue, not twisted folded in axis (Both say 'yes'; Cote seems to say 'no') In oval the lower ones in rosette v. thick, at ones more pointed. 1 nerve more or lessaceous beneath. St has several pairs. Cl with remains of G. nivalis L. [7-26-34 Fl R de N. Frequent on eastern ridge and one spec found near Alpine Garden] 7-22-31 Oxypolis montana DC. (see 9-10-31) Rochers de Naye. Fl v advanced fr. Seems same as 9-10-31. Largest fr 30 x 8mm; stipe def longer than calyx. Plants standing to 6 in overall. 7-22-31 Phaca frigida L. Cote I 374, Bon 84, S&T I 410 Fl v advanced fr. Rochers de Naye and on paths Jaman.
